TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS
As usual the National Track championships were contended only by two sections, namely Fenland and Teesside. Again the races were run at Teessides own track at Middlesbrough and a turnout of some 20 or so riders generated some interesting racing. The prized 5 mile trophy was for the first time in many years taken back to Peterborough when a highly tactical race with many early breaks being brought back until a split half way. Teessides Mike Holtby and Fenlands top lady Lindsay Clarke were allowed to get away with both teams blocking. Fenland who were blocking for Lindsay to take second place were almost as surprised as Mike Holtby when he was out-sprinted for the line by Lindsay Clarke.
Full results of the day were:
10 lap scratch
Ist Mike Holtby Teesside
2nd Brett Stinton Teesside
3rd Tan Clarke Fenland 500M Handicap

CLARION CLOTHING
Following on from the Junior squad team strip purchase we now have our jersey design and artwork lodged with Impsport of Lincoln.
Impsport are recognised as being one of the best cycling clothing manufacturers in the country and is run by BCF President Ian Emmerson.
The Jersey design is red with a 6 inch yellow/gold horizontal band with “Clarion” in large letters and "National" in smaller letters.
In contrast with the many multi-coloured sponsored jerseys of today the design should be noticeable in its simplicity at racing events and will also be acceptable for touring in.
The jerseys, tracksuits, and skinsuits etc. have to be ordered in batches of £250 so if anyone who is interested could let National Secretary. lan Clarke know then we can get an order together.
